We’ve compiled a list of some of the most frequently asked questions about Radon Mitigation that we hear.

How long do Radon Mitigation Fans last?

We warranty our fans to work for 5 years. The national average for fans is 11 years. The EPA recommends having your fans checked every two years to make sure your radon mitigation system is working properly.

How long does it take to install a Radon Mitigation System?

Most radon mitigation systems can be installed within a few hours.

How much do Radon Mitigation Systems cost?

This depends on your home’s needs & the type of work entailed. Radon Mitigation Systems can range from around $800 – $1500. We are very upfront about our pricing. A more precise quote is given once you speak with one of our Radon Professionals.

How do you fix my radon problem?

Sub Slab Depressurization is the most common & reliable radon mitigation method. It prevents radon from entering into your home by drawing the radon out from beneath your house & venting it with a van to the outside. The outside air dilutes the radon.

Why can’t I just seal the cracks in my basement to reduce my radon levels?

Sealing cracks in the floors & walls is not a standalone way to reduce radon in your home. Since radon is a gas, it can penetrate your concrete slab. However, sealing large cracks will improve your radon mitigation system’s performance. For this reason, we seal most cracks in conjunction with our radon mitigation installations.

I read about a special paint that prevents radon from entering into my home, isn’t that better?

No. There is no “quick fix” to get rid of radon. Since radon is a gas, it can easily move through these so-called special sealants. Most states warn against the false claims of these radon sealants.

Will my Radon Mitigation System provide any other benefits?

It’s possible. An active Radon Mitigation System is estimated to draw out about a gallon of water from beneath the slab every two hours. The less water, the less bacteria growth, the less dehumidifiers run, and the more likely that “musty basement” smell will be reduced or eliminated!

Donnielle S. – Batavia, IL

"Thanks for all your good work Phil! I will be sure to recommend your services to anyone in the future..."

Tom H. – Aurora, IL

"The technicians at Trinity services were extremely professional. It was a pleasure to open up our home to them. My wife and I were extremely impressed with how neat and clean they worked. A lot of contractors just don't care, but I could tell that Trinity was not one of those contractors."

Bruce – Naperville, IL

"I met Josiah last week when he came out to 310 S Rosedale in Aurora to consult with my clients about the house they are buying. I was very impressed by both his knowledge and wiliness to answer questions. Far too many in the trades are not quite so customer centric. In any case, it is my pleasure to recommend your company to other agents and to my own clients in the future."

Brad E. – Lisle, IL
